The Home Depot, the chain of home improvement stores, will invest more than one billion pesos in the country, in order to strengthen its supply chain and speed up delivery times.In a statement, the firm said that the investment plan, which began in 2020, will run until 2025 and includes the construction of nine Logistics Nodes in various entities of the Mexican Republic, including: Baja California, Mexico City, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Puebla, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa and Tabasco.The objective of the new Nodes is to strengthen its logistics network by shortening delivery times, supporting the growth of new stores, as well as having the capacity to handle complex, bulky and heavy products throughout the national territory to serve the markets where they operate more quickly. .The investment also contemplates expanding the capacity of its two Multichannel Distribution Centers, located in Nuevo León and Hidalgo.These centers supply 90 percent of the product to the 129 stores in the 32 states of the country.With the opening of the Logistics Nodes and the expansion of its two Multichannel Distribution Centers, the company will create more than 500 new jobs.The plan also includes the acquisition of new equipment, the incorporation of cutting-edge technology and the strengthening of its infrastructure to improve its Last Mile strategy.It also contemplates alliances with logistics partners to further shorten delivery times.
