Firefighters continue the work of cleaning up and recovering the Home Depot store that was devastated by a 5-alarm fire on Saturday afternoon in San José.Authorities reported Sunday night that they are investigating to determine if two fires captured by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office helicopter could be related to the fire that occurred at the establishment. The fire started around 5:30 pm, in the southeast of the building located at 920 Bloom Hill Road, in the area where the wood is located, however, until now the causes of it are unknown. And although the fire sprinklers did not work when the incident began, workers and employees managed to get out of the house safe and sound.Officials said all animals from a nearby veterinary hospital were evacuated safely and a reunification site has been set up in nearby Golfland for pet owners. The remaining animals are at the San José Animal Care Center. So far, the amount of losses left by the fire is unknown, since, due to the instability of the structure, firefighters are not yet authorized to enter the place.“The hardest and most challenging part for us to control the flames was the south side of the structure because any business this size has flammable items inside that feed the fire, but the best thing was that we were able to undermine the fire and not No injuries or loss of human lives were reported,” said Bennett Yendrey, spokesman for the San José Fire Department.Rafael Ávila, a resident and assiduous buyer of Home Depot, expressed his concern at the loss of the establishment."A lot of smoke, a lot of damage to property and since I work as a gardener, one of the sadnesses it gives me is that many trees were burned by the fire," Ávila said. For their part, the residents of 15 houses that were evacuated during the fire managed to return to their homes on Sunday.
