A construction company is building a new apartment project inside shipping containers in Salt Lake City.The six-story structure called "The Box" is located at 534 South and 500 West.It is cataloged as a novel, safe, economical project and is also proof of seismic activities.The design process began in 2017, and construction began early last year amid the earthquake and pandemic.The complex will include 83 apartments with studio, one and two-bedroom options, where Reuse of building materials will allow “The Box” complex to meet the Housing and Urban Development guidelines for affordable residences.The complex will have rental prices up to $950 for two-bedroom apartments.They estimate that they can finish the roof and interiors this month so that the units are available.A new option for Utah residents, where the best is the price offered for units, paying less for more space.
